Primordial Fire & Water

It is safe, I think, to say that nearly all Indo-European cultures held, at one time, that the original forces were not deities, but instead were the primal polar forces of Fire and Water. Strabo in 54 B.C.E said that the Druids taught , "fire and water must one day prevail."1

Druids Defined: A Reconstructionist Druid's Commentary

October 24, 2011 - Chris Godwin

Modern Druidry has put a completely new spin on exactly what a Druid is today. Because of the New Age movement and the combined restoration of paganism that started in the early 1900s, the way Druids are viewed today has been drastically changed from what Druids were in the ancient Celtic tribal culture. While the Neo-Druidic movement is a very respectable one of peace and acceptance through nature reverence, the ancient Druids may not have always been so kind.

Is our local paganism struggling for survival?

October 22, 2011 - Chris Godwin

The thought of creating a local Celtic spiritual group has been on my mind for awhile, so along with the others interested in being members, I had to assess whether the local pagan community could handle an additional group. This is because only a number of groups can be supported by a small number of people. We do not think that this assesment is to be taken lightly as we have no intention of increasing our numbers at the expense of decreasing the numbers of other established group that are serving their communities well.
